Overview
Mixlab, the fast-growing veterinary compounding pharmacy, is hiring a Per Diem Lab Lead in our New York pharmacy. We are looking for a Pharmacist who is obsessed with details and is driven by an ability to #makeithappen for our customers and their furry (and scaly!) friends no matter what. You will be an integral part in leading our Pharmacists and Technicians in the lab to ensure operations run smoothly, and to make Mixlab a 100% dependable resource for our customers and veterinarians alike.
Base pay range
$60.00/hr - $60.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Lab Lead
- Manage the lab workflow by arranging and prioritizing orders to optimize compounders’ time and ensure all orders are filled on time
- Maintain efficiency by examining past data to predict demand and batch popular compounds per applicable rules and regulations
- Research new formulas, ingredients, equipment and products
- Monitor and report on Productivity and Quality Metrics
- Develop and enforce safety protocols
- Oversee general lab maintenance and management of the pharmacy
- Manage inventory, ensuring items are in stock and placing orders when inventory is low
- Act as a Pharmacy leader when PIC is out of the office or not available
- Maintain at least three out of state licenses on the Mixlab Desired Licenses list
- Pharmacist
- Compound non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations, including but not limited to the compounding of capsules, tablets, oral liquids and topical medications
- Compound medications, fill and label prescriptions, and package medications - in other words, full-service compounding from chemicals to packaging
- Counsel clients on different medications, needs, usages, and instructions
- Keep accurate records and monitor inventory levels in accordance with USP 795, State Board of Pharmacy regulations and company policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the development team to provide guidance on product features, participating in sales activities such as calling or visiting veterinary clinics
About You
- You are a NY-licensed pharmacist, in good standing with the NY State Board of Pharmacy
- You have formal training in non-sterile compounding or equivalent experience
- You have 2+ years of experience in non-sterile compounding, with preference given to veterinary compounding experience
- You have 2+ years of experience managing technicians and other pharmacists in a high performing lab setting, or demonstrated equivalent leadership experience in other capacities
- Your attention to detail is impeccable, and you have incredibly high standards for accuracy and quality
- You are collaborative and have a desire to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, startup environment
