Job summary

Mixlab is seeking a Compounding Pharmacist to join our veterinary-focused team. You’ll compound non-sterile preparations, including capsules, tablets, oral liquids and topicals, while upholding USP 795 and New York regulations.

You’ll counsel clients, support our veterinary partners, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup environment. A NY license and 2+ years of non-sterile compounding experience are required, with veterinary compounding preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed NY pharmacist in good standing with all State Boards.
• Formal training in non-sterile compounding or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in non-sterile compounding; veterinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Compound non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations, including capsules, tablets, oral liquids and topical medications.
• Fill and label prescriptions and package medications—full-service compounding from chemicals to packaging.
• Counsel clients on medications, usage, and instructions.
• Maintain accurate records and monitor inventory per USP 795 and state regulations.
• Collaborate with the development team to guide product features and participate in sales activities with veterinary clinics.
• Perform Care Pharmacist duties as needed.

Job description

As a Compounding Pharmacist at Mixlab, you’ll play a hands‑on role in creating customized, high‑quality medications for our veterinary patients from start to finish. You’ll compound a variety of non‑sterile preparations, including capsules, tablets, oral liquids, and topical medications, while ensuring exceptional accuracy, quality, and compliance with USP <795> and New York pharmacy regulations. You’ll also counsel clients, collaborate across teams, and support our veterinary partners and Care team as needed, making this an ideal opportunity for a pharmacist who is passionate about compounding and thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

What you'll do

• Compound non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations, including but not limited to the compounding of capsules, tablets, oral liquids and topical medications.
• Compound medications, fill and label prescriptions, and package medications - in other words, full-service compounding from chemicals to packaging.
• Counsel clients on different medications, needs, usages, and instructions.
• Keep accurate records and monitor inventory levels in accordance with USP 795, State Board of Pharmacy regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the development team to provide guidance on product features, participating in sales activities such as calling or visiting veterinary clinics.
• Perform Care Pharmacist duties on an as needed basis

About you

• You are a licensed pharmacist in NY, in good standing with all State Boards of Pharmacy
• You have formal training in non-sterile compounding or equivalent experience
• You have 2+ years of experience in non-sterile compounding, with preference given to veterinary compounding experience
• Your attention to detail is impeccable, and you have incredibly high standards for accuracy and quality
• You are collaborative and have a desire to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, startup environment
