Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Pharmacist II for a Per Diem appointment to deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care across the medical center. You will provide medication counseling, document interventions, and support the Med to Bed program while collaborating with physicians and pharmacy teams.

The role requires flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, and to rotate across pharmacy areas. Prior pharmacy experience and California license are essential.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience.
• Registered Pharmacist in California (RPH).
• Can meet minimum experience via: PGY2 or PGY1 + 1 year pharmacist experience or 4 years pharmacist experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide medications and medication-related services to patients.
• Serve as preceptor to pharmacy residents and students.
• Participate in committees and promote medication-use policy.
• Provide bedside medication counseling as part of Med to Bed program.
• Rotate to all pharmacy areas/sites as needed.
• Communicate clearly with physicians, staff and patients.
