Qualifications

• Graduated a COAARC Approved Respiratory Care Program.
• DE State License, NBRC-RRT, and BLS-HCP required; AARC membership; PALS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verify all physician orders for respiratory care and provide age-appropriate care.
• Assess patients clinically and evaluate appropriateness of therapy.
• Provide aerosolized medication therapy and airway clearance therapies; ventilator setup and management.
• Provide emergency respiratory care including airway management and CPR; arterial blood gas sampling and point-of-care testing.
• Document care, patient assessments and orders in EMR; enter charges as needed.
• Participate in discharge planning and home-care education for patients and families.
• Educate physicians and nurses on respiratory care and participate in equipment evaluation.
• Maintain knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
