Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Jersey seeks an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist to provide per diem services in Union County. You will work with infants and toddlers in homes and community settings, coaching families and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support development.

The role emphasizes family-centered, evidence-based pediatric OT, IFSP development, and flexible, travel-heavy daily duties across assigned areas in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current and unrestricted New Jersey OT license; temporary licensure may be considered; NJ driver's license required.
• Minimum of two years of pediatric OT experience with infants and young children.
• Experience evaluating birth through age five is preferred for developmental evaluations.
• Knowledge of IFSP development and caregiver education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental evaluations in children's natural environments to identify needs.
• Develop and update IFSPs in collaboration with families and team members.
• Provide evidence-based OT interventions supporting fine motor, self-help, and sensory skills.
• Coach parents/Caregivers to integrate strategies into daily routines.
• Collaborate with SLPs, PTs, and other professionals to coordinate care.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, IFSPs, and billing records timely.
• Travel throughout assigned service areas to provide home-based therapy.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development.
