Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking a per diem Dietary Aide to support patient meal service and dish duties under supervision. The role involves preparing patient meals, following diet orders, and maintaining food safety standards in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The position emphasizes accurate tray assembly, adherence to sanitation practices, and proper tray delivery procedures, with opportunities for training and development within UHS.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent, preferred.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Foodservice experience, or equivalent nutrition preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items and patient meal trays accurately based on diet order, approved recipes and patient meal tickets.
• Uses proper techniques to ensure food safety, including hand hygiene, glove use, temperature monitoring, cleaning and sanitizing.
• Follows procedures for stocking trayline, prep areas and nourishment rooms.
• Utilizes proper delivery and pickup procedures including patient identification, isolation techniques, and dishroom procedures.
