Job summary

Sierra Medical Center in Reno, NV is hiring a Diet Aide to support patient food service and dish duties. You will access Cerner diet reports and CBORD to determine diet orders, allergies, and meal preferences, then assemble and deliver patient meals accordingly.

The role requires knowledge of therapeutic diets, accurate meal assembly, and dependable teamwork in a hospital setting. On-site employment with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ServSafe Certification preferred within 6 months of hire.
• Dietary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain diet orders, supplements and allergies from Cerner CBORD to provide patients with adequate nutrition.
• Obtain menu preferences and meal orders in CBORD software.
• Prepare all food items and patient meal trays according to therapeutic diet orders and approved recipes.
• Deliver patient meals to units and return carts to kitchen dish room on schedule.

Job summary: Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the Diet Aide performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties.

Job Duties/Responisbilities:

• Obtains necessary information from the Cerner diet report and CBORD such as diet orders, supplement orders, and allergies to provide patients with adequate nutrition.


• Obtains menu preferences and meal orders in CBORD software.


• Prepares all food items and patient meal trays accurately based on therapeutic diet order and approved recipes.


• Delivers patient meals to all patient care units. Returns all carts to kitchen dish room at designated times.
