Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Patient Account Registrar for Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL. The role involves interviewing patients to collect demographics, obtaining insurance details, benefits, and authorizations, and working closely with Admitting and reception areas.

Strong communication and medical terminology knowledge are essential. The position is per diem and requires the ability to input data accurately, multi-task, and meet deadlines while providing excellent customer service

Qualifications

Experience in hospital admissions preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet timelines.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Customer service experience required.
High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

Interview patients or representatives to obtain demographics.
Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable.
Input and retrieve patient data using a computer.
Communicate with patients across age groups using appropriate terminology.
Collaborate with Admitting department and reception areas as needed.
Complete special projects within designated timeframes.
