Job summary

Tucson Medical Center’s Rincon ED is seeking a Paramedic Per Diem to deliver emergency care, administer IV fluids, oxygen, and medications under ED physician direction, and support rapid patient assessments in a high-volume environment.

You will perform sterile procedures, monitor vital signs, collect specimens, document findings, and collaborate with nurses and physicians while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six (6) months of paramedic-EMT experience.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. Arizona EMT-Paramedic certification (National Registry preferred). CPI certification within 6 months of hire. NRP certification within three months for Rincon.

Responsibilities

• Maintains direct and general patient care with ongoing assessments under ED orders.
• Administers IV medications during procedures under ED physician direction.
• Assesses patient status pre, during, and post procedures and communicates concerns to ED staff.
• Takes vital signs, weighs patients, and collects routine specimens.
• Administers and manages IV fluids; applies O2 as prescribed.
• Assists physicians and nurses with sterile procedures including IV setup, intubation, suturing, arterial lines, and chest tubes.
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after discharges; restocks supplies.
• Collects information through history and physical examination and documents findings.
• Cares for the body after death.
• Collaborates with staff to meet department objectives and follows infection control policies.
