Job summary

USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital in Los Angeles is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Post Op PACU duties on a per diem basis. The role involves providing care using the nursing process, coordinating patient care, and educating patients and families within a supportive environment.

Candidates must hold a BSN, have PACU experience, English proficiency, and an active CA RN license; BLS/ACLS/PALS are required, with CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN required (grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019).
• 1 year PACU experience or 1 year in a high acuity ICU immediately prior to application.
• Excellent communication skills in English (read, write, speak).
• Knowledge of medical procedures and ability to follow policies and procedures.
• Licensed RN in CA and BLS/ACLS/PALS required; CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care using the nursing process to PACU patients in Pre-Post Op.
• Coordinate patient care and education with patients and families.
• Collaborate with surgeons and staff to implement plans of care.
• Perform and teach health treatments to patients and families.
• Maintain Cerner Millennium orders and documentation.
