Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Per Diem Clinical Nurse II - OR Float to support UNC Rex Surgical Services. Ideal candidates have OR scrub/circulate experience in orthopedic and general surgeries and can support 4-7 service lines with flexible 8/10/12 hour shifts.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, you will provide competent nursing care across multiple hospitals and service lines, participate in education, planning, and discharge readiness, and ensure adherence to standards;

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• Two years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education - identify learning needs, attends programs, uses patient education materials, and assesses readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care - reviews outcomes, revises plans with the team, and communicates to promote continuity of care.
• Implementation - cares for patients with complex problems, performs bedside testing, follows policies, prioritizes care.
• Leadership - sets goals, fosters interdepartmental collaboration, supports unit goals and cost-effective care.
• Patient Assessment - synthesizes data to determine priorities and anticipates discharge needs.
• Planning - collaborates with patient/family to update the plan of care and uses multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - reads journals and brings ideas for assessment of applicability.
