Job summary

UNC Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (Clinical Nurse II OR) in Chapel Hill, NC for the 4th Floor Operating Room. The position is per diem and at-will, requiring at least 1 year of OR nursing experience with general, oral maxillofacial or burn surgery patient populations.

It involves 12 hours every two weeks with no nights, no weekends, and no UNC holidays. UNC Medical Center houses 5 ORs with Burn, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Adult dental, pulmonary, and GI service lines.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• One (1) year of nursing experience preferred, especially in OR settings.
• Per diem, at-will position with 12-hour minimum every two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families; assesses learning needs and readiness to learn.
• Evaluates care with the interdisciplinary team and plans care accordingly.
• Delivers competent nursing care for patients with complex problems in the OR setting.
• Demonstrates leadership in coordinating intra/interdepartmental collaboration and patient safety.
