The Per Diem Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (ENT/Ophthalmology) at NYU Langone Health is responsible for patient care with emphasis on assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in a collaborative surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required from an accredited institution.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of organizational goals and quality performance improvement plans.
• Collect, assess, and document patient healthcare data.
• Involve patient/family and interdisciplinary team to identify a realistic and measurable plan of care.
• Prioritize care based on collected data.
• Document assessment and reassessment in medical records.
• Implement interventions in patient care coordination safely and timely.
• Consider needs and behaviors of specific patient age and cultural groups in care activities.
• Educate the patient/family regarding health status and care plan.
• Evaluate the patient's progress towards expected outcomes.
• Participate in unit activities to provide patient care in a healing environment.
