Job summary

Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking a Registered Nurse for a per diem role in the Main Operating Room on a rotating schedule. The RN will provide comprehensive patient care, utilize the nursing process, and supervise support staff across ophthalmology and otolaryngology cases.

The position requires Massachusetts RN licensure, a nursing degree, and at least two years of medical/surgical experience. A strong ability to perform under stress and communicate effectively is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing; baccalaureate preferred.
• Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred; OR nursing experience required.
• Demonstrates leadership; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care per nursing process and maintain professional nursing standards.
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel while supervising patient care.
• Collaborate with interns, residents, fellows, and attending physicians in a high-volume OR.
• Maintain priorities and perform effectively under stress with strong interpersonal skills.
