Job summary

Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Inc. seeks a qualified Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide patient care as the Circulating Nurse, collaborating with the surgical team to ensure safety and high-quality outcomes. This per diem role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and adheres to unit policies.

Requires RN licensure in Massachusetts, BLS, ACLS and PALS or ENPC within 3 months of hire. Prior OR experience is preferred; energy and teamwork are valued in this essential role.

Qualifications

• Education: Other Certificate/Diploma Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred.
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No.
• Licenses and Credentials: Registered Nurse [RN -Massachusetts] - required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer into position.
• PALS or ENPC required within 3 months of hire or transfer into position.
• Experience: One (1) to three (3) years Operating Room experience required.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills required.
• Additional unit-specific education and experience requirements are outlined in the Addendum for each unit.

Responsibilities

• Delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
• Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and desired outcomes.
• Performs as Circulating Nurse in the Operating Room while advocating for the anesthetized patient.
