Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an RN for per diem infusion duties at Hillcrest Infusions. The role requires chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, blood work, and post-BMT patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Qualified candidates will hold a California RN license, BSN, and ONS/chemotherapy certifications, with 1+ year oncology infusion experience. BART/BLS with six-month upgrade commitment is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current California RN license.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (within the last 6 months).
• Minimum one (1) year of recent oncology infusion center or acute care oncology experience actively administering a wide variety of chemotherapy regimens and corresponding knowledge of oncology diagnoses and treatments.
• Demonstrates independent thinking, decision making, problem solving, and prioritizing skills related to chemotherapy infusion treatments and oncology patients.
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide chemotherapy, biotherapy, clinical trials infusion and related services.
• Perform blood work, dressing changes, injections in a fast-paced outpatient infusion setting.
• Care for post Bone Marrow Transplant patients.
• Respond to and manage urgent medical emergencies.
• Practice autonomous nursing actions within ANA standards and interdisciplinary care contexts.
