Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an infusion nurse to administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and related infusion services in a busy outpatient setting in Encinitas and North County. The role requires CA RN licensure, ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification, and BART or BLS with commitment to obtain BART within six months.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current California RN license.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (within the last 6 months).
• Minimum one (1) year of recent oncology infusion center or acute care oncology experience.
• Must have proven independent thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritizing skills.
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Providing chemotherapy, biotherapy, clinical trials infusion, and other infusion-related services.
• Performing blood work, dressing changes, and injections in a fast-paced outpatient infusion center setting.
• Responding to and handling urgent medical emergencies.
• Practice autonomously within ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance.
