Job summary

BrightStar Care is seeking a reliable on-call Home Health Aide to assist clients in their homes in Duluth, MN. The role offers around 10 hours per week with potential for more hours later.

Duties include daily living tasks, light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and companionship, with flexible scheduling and a supportive team. Ideal candidates are dependable, patient, and committed to maintaining clients’ comfort and independence at home.

Qualifications

• Experience providing care in a hands-on environment (home health, assisted living, group home, hospital setting).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license with Auto Insurance.
• Willingness to work weekends (2 weekend days per month).

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation to clients.
• Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation and light housekeeping.
• Provide physical assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring and ambulation.
• Accompany clients to appointments or social outings and transport as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in health, behavior and needs.
• Coordinate with RN Case Manager to update the plan of care.

• Premium Short Shift Pay: We offer a variety of shift lengths ranging from 1 hour to 12 hours. Our 1-hour shifts get paid at $30 per hour and 2-hour shifts get paid at $22.50 an hour. Any shift 3 hours or longer is paid at a base rate between $19-$22 based on experience.

Role Responsibilities

• Accompany clients to appointments or social outings, providing transportation as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in the client’s health, behavior, and needs.
• Act as a member of the Care coordination team to communicate with the RN Case Manager to update the plan of care.

Requirements

• A compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience providing care to clients in a hands‑on environment (Home Health, Assisted Living, Group Home, Hospital Setting)
• Reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with Auto Insurance.
• Negative TB test or Cleared Chest‑Xray.
• Availability to work 2 weekend days per month.
