Job summary

WorkCare seeks an on-site Registered Nurse in Jonesboro, AR for per diem coverage. The nurse will provide first aid and medical care to clinic employees, within the RN scope, following director and client guidelines.

The role includes treating injuries, managing OSHA records, maintaining medical records, and possibly performing TB tests, immunizations, and drug screens. Strong communication and reliability are essential for this site-based occupational health team.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license in Arkansas.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Must hold current BLS certification.
• 3–5 years’ experience required.
• 2–3 years’ experience in urgent care, emergency department or occupational health preferred.
• Certification in Occupational Health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite treatment and management of injuries and minimize off-site care.
• Give on-site care, first aid, and follow-up for injured workers.
• Manage workers' comp and short-term disability cases as needed.
• Maintain a medical record database and provide reports.
• Maintain OSHA records as applicable.
• May perform medical testing (TB, blood draws, immunizations, drug screening, etc.).
• Provide First Aid, CPR, AED and training as needed.
• Maintain clinic supplies and workplace prevention measures.
• Provide preventative health education to employees.
• Deliver First Aid CPR instruction.
• Deliver monthly wellness education to employees.
• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.

The onsite professional will provide first aid and medical care to clinic employees as requested/needed, and within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director and client policy / procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide onsite treatment / management of injuries and minimize the need for off-site medical treatment.
• Give on-site care, first aid and follow up to occupationally injured/ill workers.
• Manage open workers comp and short-term disability cases as needed.
• Maintain a medical record database and provide reports to management as applicable.
• Maintain OSHA records as applicable.
• May perform medical testing including but not limited to: TB tests, blood draws, immunizations, drug screening, vision tests, hearing tests, respirator fit tests and medical evaluations.
• May perform First Aid, CPR, AED and other training as necessary.
• Maintain clinic supplies for treatment and preventative measures in the workplace.
• Provide preventative health education as needed.
• Provide First/Aid CPR instruction.
• Provide various monthly wellness education to employees.
• Performs additional duties and assumes additional responsibilities as identified by supervisor for the efficient operation of WorkCare.

Qualifications: Education/Licenses

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license in the state of Arkansas.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred.
• Must hold current BLS certification.
• 3–5 years’ experience required.
• 2-3 years’ experience in an urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred.
• Certification in Occupational Health preferred.

• Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
• Some bending and stretching could be required.
• Working under stress and using a computer/phone is required.
• Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
• Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds and climb stairs.
• Must be able to navigate uneven surfaces.

Work Environment

• Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
• The noise level is usually moderate.
• Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
• Ability to work in environments with varying climate conditions and potential exposure to odors and noise.

Final compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
