Mass General Brigham Medical Group Northern Massachusetts, Inc. is hiring a per-diem Medical Assistant to join our high-volume OB/GYN teams in Swampscott and Danvers. You will fill staffing gaps during 8:00am-5:00pm shifts, supporting clinical and non-clinical patient services under healthcare providers.

The role involves taking vital signs, scheduling, and ensuring patient comfort, working with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred.
• Licenses and Credentials: BLS Certification preferred; Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience: 1-2 years of direct MA or medical field work required.

Responsibilities

• Assist junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and onboarding training.
• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare equipment, and take vital signs and record in medical records.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and instructions; provide educational materials.
• Perform general office duties: answer phones, take dictation, and complete insurance forms; liaise with departments and advocate for patients.
• Collect blood and tissue specimens, log and prepare for testing; perform phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
• Provide immunizations (where certified or with 3 years experience) under supervision.
• Contribute to quality initiatives like patient identifiers and hand hygiene.
