Job summary

Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY seeks a Per Diem Nursing Administrator, a registered nurse with progressive administrative experience, to support Nurse Managers and senior nursing leadership across assigned shifts.

Lead nursing practice through Relationship Centered Care, implement Purposeful Hourly Rounding, validate staff rounds, assess competency, and collaborate with physicians to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master's in nursing or healthcare-related field preferred.
• 3-5 years minimum clinical nursing experience with some Charge Nurse/supervisory experience preferred.
• Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing practice using Relationship Centered Care principles.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Purposeful Hourly Rounding and role model expected behaviors.
• Ensure integration of PHR into clinical activities to enhance patient care.
• Validate staff rounds hourly on all patients by direct observation and patient feedback.
• Assess staff competency in PHR and provide ongoing feedback.
• Communicate patient experience and staff engagement metrics to leaders.
• Collaborate with physicians and escalate concerns as needed.
• Address patient concerns promptly and support service recovery.
• Design a safe, therapeutic, and efficient patient-centered care environment.
• Support department mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
