Job summary

Blackstone Valley Prep Network Office in Cumberland, RI is seeking a per diem school nurse for immediate opening to support health services across our campuses. An RN license is required, and the position is part-time with a stipend of $37.50 per hour.

The nurse will conduct health assessments, administer vaccines and care plans, document visits, and respond to emergencies in accordance with state health guidelines and DOE policies. Rhode Island certification may be necessary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct school health services per State Health and DOE guidelines.
• Refer students for medical and dental care as needed.

Responsibilities for all nurses include:

• Conduct school health services, including physical examinations, immunizations, tests for hearing and vision, based on State Health and Department of Education guidelines.
• Assume responsibility for selection and referral of students in need of medical and dental care.
• Report to parents, school personnel, physician, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
• Responsible for preparation of all health supply orders and inventory maintenance.
• Tend to an emergency situation for students and staff personnel.
• Document students' visits to the nurse's office.
• Administer necessary nursing procedures based on students' needs and doctor's orders.

Eligible candidates MUST hold a current RN license.

Compensation

Hourly $37.50
