Job summary

Texas Health Resources' Texas Health Denton NICU is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) PRN III for day shift to deliver bedside care in a 16-bed Level III NICU with private rooms. Per diem schedule includes 6 shifts every 6 weeks and weekend requirements.

Requirements include an Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma, RN license, BCLS, NRP and NRPA-Advanced NRP within 90 days, with NICU experience preferred. Strong teamwork and commitment to patient safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
• RN license upon hire required.
• BCLS certification prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• NRP within 90 days of hire.
• NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year experience as a registered nurse.
• At least 1 year NICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates information for patients and families.
• Maintains continuity of patient care across shifts and sites.
