Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Per Diem for Skokie Hospital. This per diem role offers Monday–Friday shifts from 6:30am to 11am with weekend and rotating holidays as needed.

The MLS will evaluate tests, prepare blood components, perform antibody screening, maintain equipment, manage inventory, and participate in QA/QC and GMP processes to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Biological Science required.
• MLS or MLT certification preferred.
• New graduates welcome; clinical experience preferred.
• Strong foundation in medical laboratory science; good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and interpret laboratory test results and report findings.
• Process and prepare blood components for transfusions following SOP.
• Conduct antibody screening and compatibility testing.
• Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor blood product inventory and expiration dates.
• Adhere to quality control/assurance and participate in proficiency testing.
• Perform routine processing and cryopreservation of HPC per SOP with GMP.
