Job summary

Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan (OAM) is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Scribe to assist healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and maintaining electronic health records. This per diem position offers shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Grand Rapids, MI, with potential to pick up additional shifts as needed.

The role requires strong typing, knowledge of medical terminology, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; healthcare terminology knowledge helpful.
• Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's in a healthcare field; experience as Medical Scribe or healthcare support.
• Certification as Medical Scribe is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient histories, examinations, assessments, and treatment plans in real time.
• Enter patient data into EHR systems accurately and efficiently.
• Record lab results and imaging findings as directed.
• Prepare and update patient charts before appointments.
• Assist with medical documentation such as progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Ensure documentation complies with HIPAA and privacy laws.
