Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a Per Diem Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Laboratory team. The MLT will perform routine and specialized testing to support physicians and ensure accurate, timely results while maintaining patient safety and quality.

The role requires a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or an accredited MLT program, ASCP certification within one year, knowledge of LIS, and experience with automated instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent MLT program.
• ASCP MLT certification within one year.
• Knowledge of lab procedures, testing methodologies, and quality control.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with LIS and basic computer use.
• Experience with automated laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Ability to perform lab testing and specimen analysis accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing across hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and blood bank.
• Collect, receive, process, and prepare patient specimens for analysis.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Perform quality control procedures and document results.
• Verify and report test results within turnaround times.
• Identify abnormal results and notify clinical staff of values.
