Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a Per Diem Medical Technologist to join our Laboratory team in Beloit, WI. The MT/MLS will perform a range of high- and moderate-complexity tests and ensure timely, accurate results to support patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, MLS/MT certification, and active licensure as required. Varied shifts, per diem schedule, and collaboration with clinical staff are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• MLS/MT certification (ASCP/AMT) or equivalent.
• Current state licensure if required by state regulations.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methodologies and regulatory standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform high- and moderate-complexity testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, coagulation, urinalysis.
• Collect, process, analyze, and evaluate biological specimens.
• Review results for accuracy before reporting.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Perform and document quality control, QA, and proficiency testing.
• Identify and resolve testing discrepancies and consult with leadership as needed.
• Adhere to all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate critical test results promptly to physicians and nursing staff.
• Assist with training and mentoring laboratory students and staff.
