Job summary

WellSense Health Plan is seeking a Medical Director -BH per diem in Boston. This role includes supporting clinical staff in medical management, conducting reviews, and collaborating with medical directors to enhance care quality. Applicants must be MD/DO with extensive experience and relevant certifications. The position offers a competitive pay of $150 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• 8-10+ years of related experience including a minimum of 5 years direct clinical experience.
• 3 years experience in medical management in a managed care setting is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical case review and oversight for utilization management.
• Conducts review of prior authorizations and medical necessity.
• Works with medical directors to ensure consistent decision making.
