Job summary

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Broadway Care Center in Somerville. This per diem role involves supporting a busy clinic, routing patients, and assisting clinicians across the care spectrum within CHA’s primary care services.

The position requires strong clinical skills and flexibility to cover various shifts. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking histories, recording vitals, and documenting in the EHR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA program completion or 1 year experience in lieu.
• Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification.
• English proficiency required; bilingual abilities a plus.

Responsibilities

• Actively and efficiently managing the flow of patients through the clinic
• Rooming patients
• Assisting providers with medical histories
• Documenting in the electronic health record
• Checking routine vital signs and point of care testing
• Assisting providers with clinical procedures
• Booking screening tests and scheduling follow-up appointments
• Participating in proactive population management via MyCHArt messages and patient outreach
• Other duties as required
