Banner Alzheimer's Institute is seeking a Medical Assistant for per diem coverage in Tucson, AZ. The role supports clinicians and nursing staff, performing vital signs, basic procedures, and patient prep in a fast-paced clinic.

This position offers registry/per diem opportunities with flexible schedules, weekly pay, and no guaranteed hours or benefits. A valid MA certification and CPR/BLS are required, with the ability to work across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required; completion of approved MA training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification and BLS are required.
• Strong computer and interpersonal skills; ability to manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam; record vital signs and chief complaint.
• Assist with exams and minor procedures; phlebotomy, EKGs; chaperone as needed.
• Coordinate patient care: scheduling, referrals, authorizations, tests.
• Provide clerical support; maintain medical records and billing info.
• Maintain clean exam rooms; sterilize equipment per guidelines.
• Order supplies; manage medications and recalls as directed.
• Communicate with patients and staff; provide service orientation.
• Complete onboarding and simulation training as required.
• Work under supervision of providers; liaise with internal/external contacts.
