Job summary

Stamford Health is hiring a per diem Day Shift RN for the Maternity Unit in Stamford, CT. The position requires at least 5 to 6 shifts in a 6-week schedule with weekend hours.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient care using the Nursing Process, supervision of non-RN staff, and precepting new staff. The role supports a patient-centered care environment and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid CT RN license; BLS required.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• Maintain minimum of 6 contact hours annually.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the Nursing Process and follow state/federal guidelines.
• Supervise non-RN personnel and act as a resource for ancillary staff on the unit.
• Precept new staff and/or students as requested.
• Adhere to Stamford Hospital’s policies, Code of Conduct and Compliance Program.
• Provide safe and therapeutic care and protect patient confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with the health care team and related departments.
