Job summary

AccessHealth in Spring, TX is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging, including Mammography and DEXA, while following departmental policies and safety standards. The role uses RIS and PACS systems and may take on additional duties based on training.

Qualified candidates will have a radiologic technology program graduate, ARRT mammography training, MRT certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• 40 hours mammography training approved by ARRT, with 25 supervised exams.
• ARRT MRT-General Certification; ARRT(M) certification within one year.
• Current BLS certification.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Role Overview:

The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures, including Mammography and DEXA studies, utilizing ionizing radiation equipment in accordance with departmental policies and protocols. They operate Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS systems, and may be assigned additional technical or non-technical duties based on training and credentials.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain diagnostic images following physician orders and safety standards.
• Perform Mammography and DEXA studies, with potential to conduct general radiographic, fluoroscopic, ASC, and SCNB procedures.
• Utilize RIS and PACS systems for image management.
• Adhere to quality assurance measures and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School diploma or GED, graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• 40 hours mammography training approved by ARRT, with 25 supervised exams.
• ARRT (R) MRT-General Certification; ARRT(M) certification within one year.
• Current BLS certification.
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years in mammography or 1+ years with relevant KSC experience.
• Experience with PACS, RIS, and specialized procedures like SCNB.
