Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill is seeking a Practical Nurse (LPN) for per diem coverage. You will provide direct patient care across inpatient or clinic settings, aligning with the plan of care and physician orders.

The role supports a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics, with an emphasis on safety, compassion, and teamwork. PRN schedule, daytime hours, and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education.
• Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of North Carolina.
• Requires BLS.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a current, goal-oriented care plan and consults with clinicians to meet patient needs.
• Observes and documents patient response to treatments, adjusting care priorities as needed.
• Participates in CQI activities and committee/education initiatives.
• Provides treatments and medications, monitors devices, and assists with procedures per plan.
• Assists patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Supports patients and families, de-escalates agitation, and teaches coping strategies.
