Job Summary

The purpose of a Linen Aide is to perform daily laundry and linen cleaning to maintain a hygienic, safe, and well-kept facility for the residents and co-workers.

Essential Functions
  1. Abide by the cleaning procedures.
  2. Execute work under the direction of housekeeping supervisor and the requests of the nursing staff, especially in emergencies.
  3. Be constantly alert to needed repairs and make work requests.
  4. Responsible for separating, loading, and unloading washers and dryers, sorting, folding, and distributing clean personal linen and nursing home patient personal clothing.
  5. Operate iron as required.
  6. Perform daily cleaning of equipment, lint filter on dryer, lint from drain, and weekly thorough cleaning of laundry and equipment.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Licenses and Credentials
Experience

Experience in Medical or Hospitality preferred. 0-1 year preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Dress code: clean and tidy appearance with white shirt, tan pants, sturdy shoes, and name tags.
  • Meet attendance and punctuality standards; demonstrate reliability and accountability.
  • Radio procedures: maintain open communication with nursing stations and hospital staff for efficient operations.
  • Respect residents’ personal and property rights; maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, speak clearly, and understand English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions promptly when required.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients, families, visitors, and external agencies.
  • Willingness to work harmoniously with all personnel and the public.
  • Excellent customer service and staff coordination skills.
  • Willing to train.
