St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, CA, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for a per diem position to support essential pre-analytical and clerical tasks under direct supervision.

You will handle specimen collection preparation, filing, and telephone communication while maintaining accurate records and a clean, organized lab environment. The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork and adherence to CLIA and state regulations.

Competenze

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Active California Phlebotomy Technician I or II license required for individuals performing phlebotomy.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• BLS certification within forty-five days of hire and maintained current, according to hospital requirement.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical laboratory experience performing similar job functions preferred.

Mansioni

• Perform clerical duties including computer entry and phone communication.
• Assist with specimen collection and handling under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas and equipment.
• Support pathology, microbiology, immunology, and other lab departments in pre-analytical activities.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and quality control procedures as allowed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by department leadership, including interdepartmental deliveries.
