Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Per Diem Cardiovascular Technologist for Norwalk Hospital's Invasive Cardio Lab. The role involves supporting invasive procedures, patient monitoring, documentation, and after-hours on-call with 7:00am–3:30pm or 7:00am–5:30pm shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Requires an Associate's degree and BLS, CT Radiographer licensure within 120 days, ARRT CE credits, and zero to one year of experience. RCIS is preferred. Per diem compensation at $64.00 hourly.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and BLS certification required.
• Graduate of approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• CT Radiographer licensure required within 120 days of graduation.
• Maintain CE credits for ARRT and CT license.
• Pass licensure exam on first attempt to continue employment.
• Basic computer skills; able to interpret ECGs and hemodynamic tracings.
• Experience in endovascular, interventional and diagnostic procedures.
• Minimum experience: 0–1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide invasive cardiovascular procedures with sterile technique.
• Assist with angioplasty and prepare cath lab materials.
• Monitor hemodynamics, ECGs, and document data.
• Obtain informed consent and review patient history pre-procedure.
• Calibrate and QA radiographic and monitoring equipment daily.
• Prepare patient, monitor devices, document in medical record.
• Assist cardiologist with arterial closure devices and hemostasis.
• Support staff with equipment troubleshooting and inventory.
• Contribute data for ACC-NCDR and CT Registry databases.
• Participate in on-call for emergency procedures and PACU support.
• Adhere to quality, service, teamwork, and compliance goals.
