Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) is seeking a CNA support role to assist with professional nursing care for patients. The position requires Illinois CNA training and BLS/CPR readiness, with duties including vital signs, intake/output, and documentation. Emphasis on patient advocacy and teamwork within the care team.

Qualifications

• Completion of Illinois approved CNA training program and passed a written competency test or has successfully completed a nursing arts course (e.g., Basis in Nursing, Fundamentals in Nursing, Nursing 101, etc)
• BLS Experience and Skills
• Technical Experience: NA

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with patient care activities such as obtaining vital signs, intake and output, bathing, feeding, toileting, etc.
• Assists in medical emergencies, including CPR
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record
• Timely communication of changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse
• Timely completion of delegated tasks from Registered Nurse
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel
• Timely completion of required education and competencies
• Cross train to telemetry tech if applicable to department needs
