Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is seeking an Inpatient Occupational Therapist on a per diem basis. The role involves evaluating, planning and directing occupational therapy modalities per physician prescription to restore function after injury or disability.

Responsibilities include patient assessments across age groups, pain assessment related to rehab, and educating patients and families. Per diem schedule provides flexible hours within our hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure for Occupational Therapy.
• Three (3) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Observes and evaluates treatment affect. Recommends change to physician, if needed.
• Performs an appropriate assessment on each patient, as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments, as per policy.
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation - makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
• Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching, as appropriate.
