Job summary

Forest View Hospital is seeking a per diem/as needed Activity Therapist for an inpatient unit. The role focuses on providing activity and group programming for adult or adolescent patients to assess, educate and develop recreational and daily living skills.

The position requires CTRS or applicable licensure, a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation, and is offered on a part-time basis with duties including leading therapy groups and individual assessments, while supporting nursing safety

Qualifications

• CTRS required or equivalent licensure in mental health support.
• Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited institution is required.
• Alternative: applicable Bachelors or Masters with licensure in mental health support.

Responsibilities

• Teach patients interactions with families in a socially constructive way.
• Develop productive skills for vocational, avocational and daily living activities.
• Provide opportunities to become aware of leisure strengths and interests.
• Transfer learned activity skills to community functioning.
• Perform individual assessments of functional living skills.
• Assist Nursing Team with safety duties.
