Job summary

Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Per Diem to support the Pharmacy – Todd Cancer Center. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will process orders, fill unit doses and manage inventories to ensure safe, timely medication delivery.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a hospital pharmacy inpatient technician or completion of a recognized technician program.
• Knowledge of medical/pharmacy terminology, weights and measures, and pharmacy calculations.
• Ability to communicate verbally with coworkers and health care workers.

Responsibilities

• Triage medication requests and fill new orders accurately for pharmacist review.
• Operate computer and automation tools to dispense medications timely and bill correctly.
• Fill unit dose cassettes and ADCs; restock as needed.
• Order and restock inventory to maximize turnover and prevent stock-outs.
• Ensure proper storage conditions; document temperature logs and check for expired drugs.
• Extemporaneously prepare unit dose packages and uncomplicated IV admixtures per USP 797.
