Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Per diem Home Health Aide to assist patients in their homes. You will provide personal care, support daily living activities, and help maintain comfort and safety under licensed supervision.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, hygiene, meals, and light housekeeping, while adhering to individualized care plans and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• CNA experience within the last two years or complete a training if more than two years ago.
• Must successfully pass the care center's competency program.

Responsibilities

• Obtain temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
• Assist with bathing, hygiene, transfers, and toileting.
• Prepare meals or assist with meals as needed.
• Perform light homemaking and environmental tasks.
• Observe and report patient status changes to licensed staff.
• Follow plan of care and infection control procedures.
• Assist with prescribed exercises under supervision.
