Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System’s Miramar site seeks a Histology Technologist for per diem coverage. The role prepares slides, stains, and reagents for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a Pathologist. You will supervise student technologists, support immunohistochemistry, and help ensure regulatory compliance.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, Florida licensure as a Clinical Lab Technologist, and at least 1 year of related Histology experience. Per diem schedule may vary by need.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for professional licensure and ASCP or equivalent considered.
• Florida Clinical Lab Technologist license required (TN license).
• Minimum one year of relevant Histology experience preferred.
• Provides per diem histology coverage at Memorial Hospital Miramar.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and evaluates stains, reagents, and solutions for slide preparation.
• Instructs and observes student technologists.
• Assists in validation, optimization, and implementation of new antibodies and special stains.
• Participates in inspections and ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Acts as Charge Technologist and mentors staff in histology techniques.
• Performs immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and special stains as needed.
• Evaluates complex samples to determine best preparation and staining methods.
