Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Per Diem Health Information Management (HIM) Associate for an onsite role based at 43 Whiting Hill Rd., Brewer, ME 04412. You will process patient health information, assist with chart prep and scanning, and support physicians with record completion while adhering to HIPAA and regulatory standards.

The role requires 1+ year healthcare customer service experience, MS Word/Excel proficiency, and willingness to cover multiple hospital sites within the area.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of healthcare customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save and send documents)
• Ability to work onsite at 43 Whiting Hill Rd., Brewer, ME 04412 and cover other hospital locations as needed
• Full Flu vaccination is required and boosters may be required by state laws

Responsibilities

• Completes scanning, deficiency analysis, vital statistics, and release of information functions per HIPAA and Joint Commission/CMS requirements
• Safeguard patient's protected health information at all times
• Go to nursing units to pick up charts and pack for scanning
• Analyze charts to ensure documentation completion and assign missing items to practitioners
• Log and complete weekly deficiencies and monthly audits according to hospital policies
