Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking an EMT to provide high-quality, basic pre-hospital patient care and transportation. You will assess calls, apply basic life support, and communicate with receiving facilities in a professional manner.

The role requires EMT certification, CPR, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. Some healthcare experience is desirable. You will join a team committed to values and community service.

Qualifications

• Must possess current state EMT Certification and CPR Card.
• Valid Driver's License and insurable driving record per company policy.
• Healthcare experience is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess call situations and determine best action per protocol.
• Use medical equipment to assess patient and perform basic life support.
• Operate company vehicle safely at all times.
• Ensure passengers wear seat belts and patients are secured on stretcher.
• Document activity in electronic Patient Care Record (ePCR) by shift end.
• Communicate with receiving facility for medical direction and updates.
• Lead scene management as needed and participate in quality assurance.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and stock, and participate in community relations.
