Job summary

Qualifications

• EMT certification and NC license required.
• BLS certification required.
• One year EMT experience or equivalent.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with crew and emergency personnel over radios, pagers, and cellular devices regarding location, patient status and information.
• Performs preventative vehicle maintenance and daily checks of ambulances; ensures fuel levels and cleanliness.
• Maintains logs, checklists and reports on activities, vehicle status and maintenance; participates in shift change debriefings.
• Ensures equipment is mission-ready and arranges repairs for malfunctioning gear.
• Monitors road conditions and response area; shares knowledge with team.
• May serve as lead worker or take on specialized equipment maintenance responsibilities.
• Participates in departmental meetings and programs including Quality Improvement, Marketing and Outreach, and Safety.
• Transports patients and medical crew in emergency vehicles in compliance with state laws and internal policies.
