Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Successful completion of evaluations and exams approved by Jan-Care/GEMS.
• Maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving history.

Responsibilities

• Provide out-of-hospital care to patients and safe ambulance transport.
• Lift and carry patients as required by protocols.
• Document patient information using an approved system.

Skills

General knowledge of EMS operations

Ability to learn through training

Ability to acquire knowledge of road systems

Trauma care skills

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Valid Health Care Provider level CPR certification

Certification of EMT-8 with the WV OEMS office
