Job summary

St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a part-time doula to provide continuous non-clinical support to birthing people and families across labor and postpartum.

You will work with the birthing team to offer physical and emotional comfort, advocate for patient preferences, and help families navigate the hospital environment.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling and respectful, culturally sensitive care as part of our commitment to high-quality maternity services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Doula certification from an accredited program required.
• 1 year in childbirth education, labor support, or breastfeeding education; DONA certification or within six months of hire.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Effective communication and outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Be present at birth and through immediate postpartum period.
• Offer guidance on comfort measures and pain relief (breathing, relaxation, movement, positioning, comforting touch).
• Advocate for the birthing person and facilitate communication with hospital staff.
• Provide postpartum support including initiation of breastfeeding as needed.
