Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Mount Auburn Hospital is seeking a Dietary Aide for per diem Day shifts in Cambridge, MA. The role involves assisting with tray assembly, meal service, and between-meal nourishments for hospitalized patients, while maintaining clean work areas and sanitizing equipment.

The position requires ability to read English, follow instructions, and communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to read English and comprehend and follow verbal and some written instructions.
• Ability to read and write at level three as documented on Invest, the hospital's Employee Learning Laboratory software.
• Communication skills relevant to delivering patient trays and for all contacts in the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Pass menus to appropriate patients according to name and room number.
• Portion foods for tray line and stock tray stations.
• Serve tray line station at mealtime and load trays onto meal trucks.
• Prepare and deliver patient between-meal nourishments and tube feedings.
• Inventory par stock for designated nursing units and reset tray line for next meal.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and load dishes/trays into dishwasher.
