Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Edison, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse to work on a per diem daytime schedule. The role involves direct patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team with emphasis on data collection, assessment, and care planning.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree or nursing diploma; a BSN is preferred and must be pursued within three years. NJ RN license and BLS/CPR are required within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate in Nursing or nursing diploma required.
• BSN in progress or willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• Six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Nurse Residency Program.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in NJ.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease specific assessment/data collection independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify variables in patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Implement age and disease specific care in an organized manner.
• Perform continuous Point-of-Care electronic documentation.
• Administer medications utilizing bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
