Job summary

MJHS is seeking a licensed creative arts therapist to cover Nassau County and Queens, delivering interventions for end-of-life care in home or facility settings. You will perform initial assessments, triage referrals, and document care per standards.

The role includes supervising interns and contributing to research, education, and marketing efforts to advance the program. You must hold NY license or permit and CBMT certification, with at least one year of related hospice or medical setting

Qualifications

• NY-State license or practicing under permit in creative arts therapy.
• National board certification in music therapy (CBMT) required.
• Minimum of one year experience in hospice, palliative care, or acute medical settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide creative arts therapy interventions to address physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
• Perform comprehensive initial clinical assessments and update as needed.
• Triages referrals and follows up on referrals for therapy services.
• Supervise and train creative arts therapy interns.
• Document clinical notes according to agency guidelines and medical records standards.
• Support programming, research, education, and marketing to promote the program.
